The next installment of Casey House’s mental health series of lectures for health care professionals and HIV/AIDS service providers- with Michaela Beder, a psychiatrist at St. Michael’s Hospital

Join us for an interactive discussion about working with people who are under-housed or experiencing homelessness.  Pizza will be provided.

Michaela Beder is a psychiatrist at St Michael’s Hospital, the mental health lead with Inner City Health Associates, and a lecturer at the University of Toronto. She works on an ACT team (called FOCUS), with people who experience severe mental illness, homelessness and criminalization. She has an interest in co-developing and co-teaching medical curriculum alongside people with lived experience, and in teaching about recovery and anti-oppression. Further interests include advocacy on poverty, access to healthcare for people without status, and against immigration detention.

Casey House’s HIV series is intended as capacity building, knowledge exchange and education for health care professionals and HIV/AIDS service providers.
