Great news about a developing Casey House program, The ART of conversation: Peer to Peer telephone support.

The team, Soo Chan Carusone, Casey House, Andrew Eaton, ACT and Bill O’Leary, Casey House & UofT, received a financial award through the Flipped Workshop competition offered by Universities Without Walls (UWW), the Canadian Association for HIV Research (CAHR) and the Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN). The money will be used to initiate a pilot program in September!
Casey House and the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) partnered to develop a peer telephone support intervention to assist people living with HIV who are actively using substances and who have initiated or re-started antiretroviral therapy (ART) while in hospital. The intervention promotes the meaningful inclusion of peers during a person’s transition from hospital to community, with specific focus placed on ART adherence and harm reduction.
