You feel so much love in this house, it’s amazing. That heart out there doesn’t stand for nothing; it really is a warm, loving home.
Lynn, Casey House client
Lynn needs to be at Casey House because of the medical care we provide. What she appreciates are the small comforts she enjoys while she’s living in our unique hospital. An in-patient at Casey House upwards of five times, Lynn comes to Casey House to help manage the health complications she lives with as a result of being HIV+; what she loves about being here is how she’s cared for, “the people and the way they treat you, they’re full of compassion”, says Lynn. Of Casey House’s flag adorned with our logo Lynn says, “You feel so much love in this house, it’s amazing. That heart out there doesn’t stand for nothing; it really is a warm, loving home.”
The comfort Lynn feels is part of how Casey House cares for the whole person, looking after patients as individuals, with different needs. Our nurses, doctors, food services staff, they get to know each person, and personalize the care they give to provide what the client needs in a home-like setting. As Lynn says, “when you’ve got a caring house like this, it means a lot”.
