Learning Objectives
Upon attending the session the attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the value of peer-support specialists in helping patients who use drugs
  • Describe harm reduction practices and elaborate on how they can fit on a continuum that can sometimes include abstinence for some patients
  • Engage in a discussion around substance use that’s aware of the current landscape of the addiction epidemic as well as the strengths and limitations of various treatments including harm reduction, addiction medicine and psychosocial interventions.
