Casey House offers non-judgmental compassionate care to clients living with HIV/AIDS. We look forward to meeting, welcoming, and caring for every client who comes through our doors. If you know someone who might benefit from Casey House, we’d love to hear from you.
Casey House has a centralized intake for all programs including inpatient, day health and community care. We accept referrals from those living with HIV, families, friends, hospitals, community providers, family doctors and AIDS service organizations.
To access Casey House services, clients need to be HIV+, 18 years or older and require the health services of the inter-professional team to address their complex health needs.
Inpatient specific criteria:
-Require 24/7 nursing care and daily access to a physician
-Comorbidities that may include: mental health and active substance use issues
-Medical, social and/or end of life health care needs that would benefit from inter-professional team
Day health specific criteria: (note- day health intake on hold due to COVID-19)
-May have multiple comorbidities including physical, substance use and mental health issues impacting functioning and coping
-Require services of inter-professional team: nurses, social workers, case managers, recreation therapists, massage therapists or physiotherapist
-Interest and willingness to engage in programming and set goals
-Able to participate in group/community environment
-Are able to travel to Casey House

Please note, admissions to Casey House are determined by health care priority. A waiting list is maintained to ensure client referrals are served in priority sequence. The only exception to this process is for respite, which clients can stay in for up to two weeks. There is typically a two to three month waiting list for our respite beds which are open to active Casey House clients.
Everyone must participate in an intake process prior to being admitted as a client.
