Heart of the House

The Heart of the House Society is our monthly donor program here at Casey House. Members choose to show their support of Casey House in this way for several reasons:

o It is a simple, easy and cost-effective way of showing your support.
o Your credit card or bank account is charged at the same day, in the same amount each month, so there’s no confusion.
o You receive one tax receipt after the end of the calendar year, which represents all of your year’s monthly donations.

Our monthly donors truly are the “Heart” of our house. They have shown their commitment to us and the work that we do, and this helps us to better plan our programs and services around a regular stream of funds. Some benefits that Heart of the House Society members can enjoy are:

o Regular updates on what is happening at Casey House.
o Semi-annual newsletters reviewing recent events, and giving sneak previews of what’s coming up.
o Casey House Annual Report mailed to them.
o Invitations to special functions and receptions.
o One designated Casey House staff member that they can contact for any concerns or inquiries they might have.

Did you know:

o 27% of HIV positive Canadians are youth between the ages of 15-29 years old.
o The number of heterosexual women and men with HIV is up 23% since 1996.
o 27% of all new HIV infections in 2006 were women.
o Every 2 hours, a Canadian is infected with HIV.

o It costs $36 a day to care for someone with HIV/AIDS in our Home Hospice Program compared to a hospital.
o Since its inception, our Childcare Fund has been accessed by 430 mothers living with HIV/AIDS over 1,400 times caring for close to 700 children while they attend to necessary appointments and medical care.
o Over the last 18 years, people living with HIV/AIDS have received care, services and support through at least one of our exceptional and innovative programs on 83,068 occasions.
