Casey House Foundation is proud to announce that the 14th annual Art with Heart collection sold for $406,250 at auction - 34% over the estimate.
A palpable thrill could be felt through the crowd as bidders competed for the fabulous art pieces that were held aloft onstage by the hunky team of Toronto-Dominion art handlers, whose splendid physiques added yet more treats for the eyes.

The success of this year's Art with Heart locked in the event's reputation as one of the highest grossing charity art auctions in the country. Held at the gorgeous historic Carlu, the auction was conducted by Ritchies Auctioneers and food was prepared by Daniel et Daniel, including fun artists' paintboxes filled with edible delights.
This year dedicated to the memory of beloved Casey House founder June Callwood, the evening saw the launch of the June Callwood Artist's Multiple, a limited-edition ceramic pin created by Julie Moon entitled "Making a Point", which can still be purchased by contacting Casey House. This year's Gallery of Patrons Limited Edition, sponsored by Concord CityPlace, featured "Street Cars The Queensway" by Toronto-based photographer Toni Hafkenscheid, shot from a gorgeously quirky perspective. A few are still available.
Artist James Lahey, inspired by his deep love for June Callwood, donated a special work for this year's auction which sold for the evening's highest price tag: $27,000, 50% over the estimate. The auction included work by some of the most significant of Canadian contemporary artists including Edward Burtynsky, Darren Cerkownyk, Douglas Coupland, Ken Danby, Greg Girard, Attila Richard Lukacs, Charles Pachter and Harold Town. The collection also included emerging artists with careers on the verge of breaking, whose work was identified by our skilled curatorial committee and snapped up by enthusiastic patrons. All the fun of the night, while gorgeous and exuberant, was very much in the name of an important cause. Funds raised through Art with Heart will go to support the Community Program, which includes the Home Hospice Program. The funds will assist Casey House in providing exemplary treatment, support and palliative care for people living with HIV/AIDS and their families.
We are very grateful to the patrons, artists, volunteers and sponsors who made this important fundraising event possible.
