About Casey House Foundation

Casey House Foundation raises funds to support our Community Program, allowing us to meet the demand for services from people living with HIV/AIDS in the community. In 1992 we launched the Home Hospice Program (part of the Community Program), which enables our care team to see over 100 clients at home, or in the community, and assist them with co-ordinating their care. This innovative response helps us to extend our care to meet the needs of clients wherever they are and can be described as a hospital without walls.

Casey House's Community Program receives little or no government funding, and relies almost exclusively on fundraising. Other programs which are funded through the Foundation include: our Associate Physician, Complementary Therapies, Care for the Caregiver Program and the Resident Care and Comfort Fund.

Through the generosity of our donors and special event fundraising, each year the Foundation grants approximately $1.2 million in support of our Community Program and special capital projects in the Hospice.

The Foundation raises money several ways:

  • Individual Donations
  • Corporations
  • Private Foundations
  • Special Events - including Art with Heart, SnowBall and DQ
  • Community Events
  • Employee and Community Groups
  • In-kind Donations
  • Treasures with Heart
  • Donations of Marketable Securities
  • Bequests and Planned Giving
