Casey House’s board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Simons to the position of chief executive officer, effective June 13, 2016.
An accomplished senior executive, Joanne most recently served as the national Chief MissionOfficer and Executive Director, Ontario at The Arthritis Society. In this role she provided strategic oversight for research, programs, public policy and communications as well as leading fundraising and operations in Ontario, which included a 75 person clinical team delivering direct physiotherapy and occupational health services to people with arthritis.
Joanne previously held the position of Vice President, Revenue Development, at the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and also at CauseForce, Inc., where her operational and strategic leadership ensured the growth and success of milestone events including the Weekend to End Breast Cancer and the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
Joanne is a devoted advocate of healthy communities. Among her directorships past and present are The Redwood Shelter, Health Partners, Hazel Burns Hospice, and Better Care Faster, a coalition for innovation in health care.
Joanne’s first passion is the not-for-profit sector and she has been consistently recognized as a leader and innovator. The board of directors believes Joanne has the necessary leadership skills and organizational transformation experience to take Casey House to the next level in its provision of excellent HIV/AIDS care. Joanne is looking forward to working with our dedicated team of staff, volunteers and donors to support Casey House clients to live as well as possible with HIV/AIDS.
